Reumo
The present paper aims to show the relevance of a university extension project in promoting the sixth dimension of decent work (SDG 8 – Sustainable development goal) which refers to the creation of decent employment opportunities in accordance with the assumptions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations (UN). For this, descriptive, explanatory and exploratory research was used through a bibliographic review and document analysis in dieese, ibge and smartlab databases. Thus, statistical data on unemployment in Brazil was sought in the pre- and post-Covid-19 pandemic periods. There was an increase in precarious work and the difficulty in finding equity in the labor market and decent employment opportunities. Likewise, the growth of informality among Brazilian workers, the difficulty in inserting young people into the job market, as well as the difficulty in re-entering those 50+ who are looking for a new job. In this sense, the results reveal the relevance of the project studied in seeking to raise awareness among different actors, whether workers, businesspeople and governments, about their interdependence and responsibility in promoting decent work, especially in creating decent job opportunities.

The present work aims to show the relevance of a university extension project in promoting the sixth dimension of decent work (SDG 8 – Sustainable development goal) which refers to the creation of decent employment opportunities in accordance with the assumptions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations (UN).
