O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o impacto financeiro da COVID-19 nas Operadoras de planos de Saúde no Brasil, por meio das análises dos indicadores de resultado operacional, liquidez e estrutura de capital. Para tanto, foram analisadas 644 operadoras em 2019 e 650 operadoras em 2020, autorizadas a operar nas modalidades Autogestão, Cooperativa Médica, Medicina de Grupo e Seguradora especializada. A partir das análises efetuadas, pode-se observar um crescimento médio significativo das operadoras em 2020. O resultado operacional no ano da pandemia do segmento de Saúde Suplementar alcançou o montante de R$ 20,5 Bilhões em 2020, um crescimento de 75,75% quando comparado com o ano anterior de 2019 que foi de R$ 11,6 Bilhões. No que tange aos indicadores de liquidez corrente e geral, aumentaram de 15,5% em 2019, para 19,8% em 2020. Para a estrutura de capital, foram verificados um crescimento na participação do Capital Próprio. Pode-se concluir que o mercado vem obtendo resultados significativos, reduzindo o seu endividamento com a geração de caixa, e que apesar do período de pandemia mundial, o segmento de saúde no Brasil tem se beneficiado por esse momento.
Abstract
The objective of this study was to assess the financial impact of COVID-19 on Health Plan Operators in Brazil, through the analysis of operating result, liquidity and capital structure indicators. For this purpose, 644 operators were analyzed in 2019 and 650 operators in 2020, authorized to operate in the Self-Management, Medical Cooperative, Group Medicine and Specialized Insurance modalities. From the analyzes carried out, a significant average growth of the operators in 2020 can be observed. The operating result in the year of the pandemic of the Supplementary Health segment reached the amount of R$ 20.5 billion in 2020, an increase of 75.75 % when compared to the previous year of 2019, which was BRL 11.6 billion. Regarding current and general liquidity indicators, they increased from 15.5% in 2019 to 19.8% in 2020. For the capital structure, there was an increase in the participation of Equity. It can be concluded that the market has been obtaining significant results, reducing its indebtedness with the generation of cash, and that despite the period of world pandemic, the health segment in Brazil has benefited from this moment.
