Reumo
Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que investigou a adoção de trinta e quatro artefatos de controladoria em um consórcio de empresas situado no Porto de Itaqui, São Luís, Maranhão. Os artefatos, distribuídos entre métodos de custeio, mensuração de desempenho e filosofias de gestão, foram avaliados em relação à sua aplicação na empresa. Os achados revelam um alinhamento geral dos artefatos adotados pelo consórcio com as exigências do modelo de negócio, embora identifiquem áreas que demandam melhorias. A empresa, já adota estratégias como retorno sobre o investimento e Benchmarking, como também demonstra disposição para explorar novas metodologias, incluindo beyond budgeting, kaizen, teoria das restrições e balanced scorecard. Destaca-se, ainda, um comprometimento significativo com a sustentabilidade, evidenciado por certificações ISO e iniciativas ambientais premiadas. Abordando a Controladoria como uma área de conhecimento essencial, o estudo enfatiza seu papel integral na gestão econômica e otimização de resultados. Em síntese, a pesquisa destaca a importância da adaptação contínua, busca por eficiência e compromisso com a excelência empresarial. A Controladoria, além de ser uma função instrumental, emerge como impulsionadora da inovação e sustentabilidade organizacional, contribuindo para a evolução do consórcio no dinâmico cenário do Porto de Itaqui, São Luís, Maranhão.
Abstract
This paper presents the results of a study that investigated the adoption of thirty-four controller artifacts in a consortium of companies located at the Port of Itaqui, São Luís, Maranhão. The artifacts, spanning cost accounting methods, performance measurement, and management philosophies, were assessed concerning their application within the company. The findings reveal an overall alignment of the artifacts adopted by the consortium with the demands of the business model, although they identify areas that require improvement. The company already adopts strategies such as return on investment and benchmarking, while also demonstrating a willingness to explore new methodologies, including beyond budgeting, kaizen, theory of constraints, and the balanced scorecard. Additionally, there is a significant commitment to sustainability, evidenced by ISO certifications and award-winning environmental initiatives. Addressing Controller as an essential area of knowledge, the study emphasizes its integral role in economic management and result optimization. In summary, the research underscores the importance of continuous adaptation, the pursuit of efficiency, and commitment to business excellence. Controller, apart from being an instrumental function, emerges as a driver of innovation and organizational sustainability, contributing to the consortium's evolution in the dynamic scenario of the Port of Itaqui, São Luís, Maranhão.
