Reumo
O estudo aborda o empreendedorismo sustentável como modelo de negócio que se apresenta apto para promover o equilíbrio entre as necessidades humanas, a preservação ambiental, a equidade social e o alcance dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Objetivo: identificar, a partir da perspectiva de gestores de negócios sustentáveis inseridos em um Ecossistema de Inovação, quais estruturas e iniciativas contribuem para o desenvolvimento desses negócios, e apresentar casos concretos nesse contexto. Metodologia/Abordagem: Pesquisa descritiva, exploratório e qualitativa, guiada por um Protocolo de Estudo Multicasos, com entrevistas com cinco startups de negócios sustentáveis, e com o gestor do Parque Científico e Tecnológico (PCT) onde essas empresas estão situadas. Originalidade/Relevância: a contribuição desses negócios voltados para a solução de problemas socioambientais demanda compreensão e apoio, de forma a contribuir com o alcance dos ODS. Os resultados proporcionaram conhecer os casos das startups sustentáveis, e identificar as principais estruturas e iniciativas destacadas pelos gestores para apoiar no desenvolvimento desses empreendimentos. Observou-se, ainda, que, embora o suporte existente seja significativo, há oportunidades para aprimorar a oferta de serviços personalizados, direcionados para os desafios específicos dos negócios sustentáveis.
Abstract
This study explores sustainable entrepreneurship as a business model capable of promoting balance among human needs, environmental preservation, social equity, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Objective: To identify, from the perspective of managers of sustainable businesses embedded within an Innovation Ecosystem, the structures and initiatives that contribute to the development of these ventures, and to present concrete cases within this context. Methodology/Approach: A descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative study, guided by a Multiple Case Study Protocol, involving interviews with five sustainable startups and the manager of the Science and Technology Park (STP) where these companies are located. Originality/Relevance: The contribution of these businesses to addressing socio-environmental challenges requires greater understanding and support in order to advance the achievement of the SDGs. The results enabled an in-depth understanding of the sustainable startup cases and the identification of key structures and initiatives emphasized by managers as instrumental in supporting the development of these ventures. Moreover, while the existing support was found to be significant, the findings point to opportunities to improve the delivery of personalized services targeted at the specific challenges faced by sustainable businesses.
